Why can't I run AxoBASIC v1.1 after upgrading to a Pentium computer?
AxoBasic 1.2
Question
Why can't I run AxoBASIC v1.1 after upgrading to a Pentium computer?
Answer
Please note, we no longer sell or support AxoBasic.
Pentium computers sometimes use additional ROM BIOS from network cards
or other devices, which are placed into the E segment (E000 - EFFF) of
the UMB (upper memory block), previously required by AxoBASIC v1.1 for
use as an EMS page frame. However, with AxoBASIC v1.2, the EMS page
frame is relocatable, and the HARDCOPY buffer from the D segment (D000
- DFFF) of memory has been eliminated. So now, not only is there more
memory available in the UMB, but the EMS page frame can be moved to any
part of the UMB.
Although further development of AxoBASIC has been discontinued,
AxoBASIC v1.2 is available as a free update to all AxoBASIC customers,
along with a manual in MS-Word format. Please contact Technical Support
to obtain these. Note that AxoBASIC v1.2 has not gone through beta
testing.
Version 1.2 supports conventional VGA graphics systems. Two
data acquisition systems are supported: Digidata 1200 series and
LabMaster TL-1.
Version 1.2 includes some new functionality, including:
- STARTEVOKE allows a user to start an indefinitely concatenated
series of EVOKEs under DMA control; during the stimulation and
acquisition, control is returned to the user program to allow analysis
of data as it comes in.
- TSAMPLE allows a SAMPLE to start after an input signal passes a defined threshold in a specified direction.
